Derbyshire So Close
« on: August 14, 2006, 13:26 PM »

The Derbyshire team without four of its regular one day players performed exceptionally well and almost produced what would have been a well-deserved win from an unpromising position.

A young, inexperienced team had taken a near full-strength Hampshire to the very last ball and, with just a little luck, they might easily have won, showing that the team is on the up and that the future is bright at The County Ground.

It certainly looked like a close game, although a quick glance at the Hampshire team does reveal that they were'nt at full strength either.

It had been a wonderful game of cricket from which Derbyshire could take much heart.
