The County Ground, Derby
« on: June 29, 2006, 22:31 PM »

The County Ground (sometimes known as The Racecourse Ground) is the home of Derbyshire County Cricket Club. The club is currently developing its new Gateway Building as a cricket school and function centre combined. This building has replaced the old 'Grandstand', which dated back to 1911.

The highest first class score achieved at the County Ground came in 1898 when Derbyshire made 645 against Hampshire.

There is a documentary mini-clip somewhere on the BBC online website, can anybody get me/us the download URL about this? Thanks in advance.

Derbyshire have recently asked the Ecb to be allowed to bowl all their overs from one end when playing day night games as the wicket is directly in-line with the setting sun, hence it obscures the batsmans vision.  Roll Eyes

Does anyone know if, during tomorrows FPT match v Lancashire, the kids will be allowed on the outfield during the interval with a bat and ball?

It's going to be only our second time to the County Ground in 3 years.... and it has probably changed a lot since then. Not even sure where to sit!
