Robert Croft is still the country`s leading homegrown spinner with 57 wickets to his name – one more than Lancashire`s Gary Keedy, and four more than Surrey`s Ian Salisbury.
the Glamorgan captain is currently the joint third most successful bowler in first-class cricket this summer
In all, Croft now has 939 first-class wickets to his name during his career – of which 819 have been for Glamorgan – and if he continues in his wicket-taking vein in the remaining games this year, he will pass the landmark of 950 first-class wickets, and could finish the summer with his best ever haul, beating his total of 76 wickets in 1996.
