An impressive line-up of past and present sports stars have confirmed that they will be competing in the Kirby and West Challenge - 'A Leicestershire Sporting All-Stars Twenty20 match' at Grace Road on Wednesday.
The popular former Leicestershire and England fast bowler Devon Malcolm returns to Grace Road, supporters will also have a unique opportunity to see Tigers star and England rugby Captain Martin Corry in action on the cricket field as he takes up the Captaincy of the Sporting Stars XI.
The game will feature players from the world of football including former Leicester City legends Matt Elliott, Steve Walsh, Gerry Taggart, Gary McAllister, Ali Mauchlen and Paul Ramsey.
As well as Martin Corry, current players Harry Ellis and Luke Abraham, together with former heroes Neil Back, Darren Grewcock, Will Skinner and Matt Poole will be among those representing rugby, while Leicester Riders Coach and former England basketball international Karl Brown will also be taking part.
Darren will be joined by team mates Paul Nixon and Jeremy Snape and a number of other Leicestershire County Cricket Club players.
The Twenty20 match is being staged on Wednesday 14th June at 5.30pm at Grace Road.
The event, part of the Leicestershire and England player’s Benefit year, will pit the Darren Maddy XI against the Leicestershire Sporting Stars XI.
Darren said: “With so many famous names, Leicestershire sports fans are in for a real treat.
“The match promises to be both a competitive and fun ‘must-attend’ event.”
Half time entertainment will include a competition on the outfield, courtesy of the Leicester Sound Breakfast Crew
