Anyone follow Minor Counties Cricket?
« on: May 13, 2006, 12:33 PM »

I used to follow the
results when i was younger and
occasionally catch the Dorset scorecards
in the local paper.

I
remember when Durham were 'promoted'
to First Class cricket. What year was
that?

That was
1992. They struggled for several
seasons but are certainly a force to be
reckoned with now!

As for
the Minors, I used to be interested in
the first round of the Natwest, when
the Minor Counties played the first-class
teams, just to see who from the county
scene had gone to a Minor County. In
past years Derek Randall, Wayne Larkins
and a number of less well-known players
extended their careers that way.
Difficult to follow the scores now
though.

scorecards etc on, i'll have to
try and hunt it out.

If i
find the link i'll post it

Larkins.....
