Retain the Ashes with the growing injury list. It's looking likely that Jones, Giles and Vaughn will all miss the series. Giles for me isn't a big loss because of Panesar, Vaughn 'can' be filled in for. Jones to me is the biggest loss.

I don't think we will.

On the Aussies home turf it was always going to be different.

I actually think that Ashley Giles being injured has had a bigger effect on the team because its upset the dynamics of the team, now we have 4 tailenders but with him batting at 8 he added a bit of steel to our lower order, although Monty Panesar is the better bowler.

Vaughans batting can be replaced, but will we find a captain to replace him adequately enough?

Simon Jones is a huge loss.

Jones is an overrated overhyped bowler. When he first played for England he was supposed to be an express bowler, but he's never consistently bowled quicker than 90 mph. Naturally, injuries were held to blame. Minus reverse swing, which you won't see for love nor money in Australia, he's just a pie-thrower. Still, he's preferable to Mahmood.
