Time to recall Darren Gough?
« on: June 24, 2006, 22:41 PM »

With our increasingly shambolic bowling performances, is it time to recall Darren Gough to the One day team? Perhaps an old head amongst our fledling bowlers might help?

Not sure how hes been performing this year, but he's stated his desire to be recalled.

No point now - there are only two matches to go. The ODIs against Pakistan don't start until late August, he'll probably have picked up another injury by then. Hopefully James Anderson will be bowling by then - I'm not sure how long he's out for.

Whoever plays against Pakistan is more or less guaranteed a place for the Champions Trophy and World Cup - I don't believe Goughy can last that long whatever he says.

Like you say hopefully Jimmy Anderson will be fit.

Did'nt we recently name a 30 man pool for the World Cup next year?
