White accepts new Somerset deal
« on: September 19, 2006, 16:35 PM »

Australian all-rounder Cameron White has signed a deal to return to Somerset as one of their overseas players for the 2007 season, it has been announced.
Somerset, who must re-build following a disastrous 2006 campaign, are pleased to have retained the services of the big-hitting batsman/slow bowler.

Director of cricket Brian Rose said: "Cameron proved himself a one-day match-winner with teh bat this summer.

"I am sure our supporters will share our pleasure in signing him again."

Rose said the team's other overseas target "will also be a batsman".

Justin Langer had a brief and successful spell with the club this year and is likely to feature on their shortlist.

But the Test opener has also attracted plenty of interest from other counties.

Good news, lets hope our second overseas signing is a little better than this years choise of Cullen!  Too Funny

I noticed we've also re-signed Steffan Jones from Derbyshire.

In my opinion we need a big clearout.

With the signing of Langer, we now have two strong overseas players.

Its the bowling side of things we need to look at now.

If england aren't going to pick trescothick again with too much haste then somerset will have an amazing opening partnership all season.
