An unbeaten Jonathan Batty 58 from 42 balls was not enough to save Surrey from a 37 run defeat at the hands of the Nottinghamshire Outlaws in the Twenty20 semi final at Trent Bridge.
it was the introduction of Anil Kumble that had the effect for the Brown Caps. In his second over the leg spinner had the Outlaw’s danger man, Fleming, bowled for 31.
This wicket put the brakes on Nottinghamshire’s progress and in an attempt to steal a quick run Graham Swann, who was looking very dangerous, was run out by Azhar Mahmood for 32.
