Spin-fest a turn for the better

WITH THE score at 112-3, and 500 so distant a target that only a draw was feasible, Yorkshire’s leg-spinner Adil Rashid was introduced to the attack. His first ball was a perfectly pitched leg-break which zipped into the pads of Middlesex’s left-handed Billy Godleman. It looked a devilishly close shout, but Rashid’s plaintive appeal (no doubt gleaned from Mushtaq Ahmed when the pair worked together at the start of the season) was turned down.
